Course Description

This introduction to Green Building Rating Systems provides a general overview of the various codes and rating systems allowed by either the DC Green Building Act or the DC Green Construction Code. This course will review the various options and how to determine which apply to your project. After completing this course, participants will be prepared to attend Advanced Sustainability and Health courses through the Train Green program.

  • Review DC Green Building Act and DC Green Construction Code
  • Determine which rating system(s) are applicable for your project, including:
    • Green Building Rating Systems Overview:
    • LEED
    • Green Communities
    • Living Building Challenge
    • National Green Building Standard (ICC 700)
    • Appendix Z
    • WELL and Fitwel
